Have you ever been presented with an idea & then found yourself thinking so much into it that somewhere along the way you got irritated, frustrated & lost in what first began as an inspiring concept?
This is what happened for me when I was presented with having God as my only goal.
I've spent the greater part of two weeks trying to figure out 1) how to function without goals & 2) only seeing God as my future.
I can see where there can be & is value in functioning this way for many people.
However, at this time in my life, I have come to the conclusion that functioning without goals makes me of less value in serving the world than when I DO have goals.
With goals I am focused, present & have a great sense of achievement when something is accomplished.
Without goals I feel like a wanderer. A drifter. My negative self-talk increases. My irritations & frustrations are greater & more than anything, I am left with a great, overwhelming sense of confusion about what to do next.
It was as if when I threw my goals out the window, my sense of purpose left with it.
With that said, I believe there is a time & place for everything.
In another era of my time here, it may very well be true that functioning with God as my only purpose will serve me greatly.
But for now, having goals & conquering them excites me.
What I will do is to seek God in the goals I choose to pursue. I will take notice of resistance & choose surrender, always. God will forever be infused into my choices & actions.
But hey, maybe that's what the concept was hinting at all along, aye?
When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? A movie star, a nurse or Nancy Drew.
If you could pick 3 colors to surround you for the next 6 months, what would they be? Deep Purple, Hot Red Pink and Cool Turquoise Blue. Those are the colors that make me feel the most alive.
What is your number 1, super-duper, never ending important goal for your life? To be light and love in world, assist everyone I meet with kindness, express my true voice and be happy. (Yep - I consider that to be all one thing.)
What is the first thing that crosses your mind most mornings? After the delicious anticipation of my cup of coffee - how I’m going to flow in the love and light and create something new.
Who is your favorite super-hero? Isis from the Shazam!/Isis Hour.
Tell us one strange-ish fact about you... I can’t stand overhead lighting. I’m a sunlight, lamp or candle person.
What celebrity figure has given you the most inspiration within the last year? Denise Linn has been hugely inspirational for me this year. She’s a beautiful example of brave, loving, smart and honest; and she responds personally, with kindness, to her many followers.
What are you doing right now that is of service to the world? I’m telling my story about the journey out of anxiety into love, spinning in the glow of Reiki with my clients and sharing my intuitive gifts in the hopes that everyone I encounter leaves me feeling a little bit better and knowing themselves a little bit better than they did before. (Kind of like being a movie star nurse soul detective!)
