It's Time To Embrace Your SacredSexyU 10/18/2010
Some of you may remember a couple months ago, (in August) when I took the SacredSexyU workshop lead by Lisa Carmen.
One of my favorite activities in the workshop was the ‘shadow exercise.’
We listed all of the qualities that we disliked in the most difficult person in our lives & acknowledged the same qualities existed in ourselves.
This allowed us to fully accept our villain. It was a very powerful exercise that I consider doing on a weekly basis.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of participating in Pink Posse journaling workshop lead by no one other than, Lisa Carmen. I swear, this woman has endless talents & levels of awesomeness.
On that note, it is my pleasure to announce that Lisa Carmen of
Is this weeks Rainbow Sponsor! Not only does Lisa lead amazing workshops that empower women to be honest with themselves & where they are (and where they want to be,) but she is also a breathtaking life coach.

Potato, Black Bean & Salsa Skillet 10/18/2010
Another fabulous recipe from Spark People. If you are interested in finding out the nutrition facts, click here. After I made it I realized this was very suitable for a yummy breakfast taco.
- 4 medium red potatoes
- 1.5 cups black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1.5 cups canned yellow corn, drained
- 1 cup salsa of preference
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp butter or margarine
- salt and pepper to taste
Wash and dice potatoes, place in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until fork tender, about fifteen minutes.
While the potatoes are cooking, rinse and pat dry the chicken breasts. Dice into 1/2 inch pieces. Spray a skillet with non-stick cooking spray, and saute the chicken pieces over medium heat until cooked through and slightly browned, about seven minutes. Remove to a separate dish.
When the potatoes are cooked, drain and rinse. Place them in the skillet the chicken was cooked in, and add 1 tbsp butter. Cook, stirring frequently, until potatoes are browned, about five minutes. Put the chicken back into the skillet with the potatoes, and add the black beans and corn. Stir to combine, then add the salsa and stir again.
Heat through, top with cheese, and continue to heat until cheese is melted. Serve by itself or on a flour tortilla, topped with sour cream and salsa.

Playing With What Works & What Doesn't 10/15/2010
I think I might have been wrong.
It was my understanding that waking up at 5:00 a.m. was the driving force in determining how much I accomplished in a day.
Sure waking up that early has it benefits, however I don’t think it was the missing element in my productivity.
Since making my one-hour-list, I have discovered that focusing on these things first & foremost in the morning is what grounds me & gets me ready for the day.
I am not going rule out waking up extra early completely. I still love the smell of the morning air, watching the sunrise & being able to spread my to-dos out more.
But I am not going to use it as my bottom line. My bottom line will be taking one hour each morning to read, write, meditate & stretch before starting my day.
It just feels so good. How can I deny myself of such a simple reward?
What routine do you implement that is crucial to the success of your day?

Switching Gears, The Changing Of The Seasons 10/13/2010
The change of the season always messes with my head.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Fall & Winter. But there is something inside of me screaming to slow down, go within & write. Just be with what is. It is an uncomfortable & unfamiliar place to be.
Am I listening? No.
Why is that? Lissa wrote a post on Owning Pink the other day called Be Less Sperm, More Egg.
Like Lissa, I am in a constant state of doing. After reading the post I was still left puzzled as to actually how do less, receive more & just be.
Creating a daily spiritual practice that works for me has seemed like a good idea for a long time. In the past I have never made the time to do it, but now it almost seems necessary for my personal growth.
I haven’t put too much thought into it yet, but I think it will go something like this….
Everyday I will take one hour to:
This feels good to me. Not too much, not too little, but just enough to start the day out right.
Tomorrow- it begins!

Sponsor Lovin' and Owning Your Sexuality 10/11/2010
That's right. I said it.
A conversation many of us shy away from. Our cheeks turn rosy, our voice cracks and the discomfort settles in.
It wasn't until I met Caren that sexuality became something I desired to embrace & express openly. A few months ago we had an Owning Sexuality Pink Posse Event in Dallas. I thought this event would be hard to fill, but it turned out that women in the community were dying to talk about what turned them on.
Caren flew all the way from California to lead the event and then sell sex toys to those who were interested in purchasing.
It was our highest attendance in the last year.
I am so honored to have Caren of Love U Parties as one of The Rainbow's sponsors.
Please, click the banner above, find out what she is all about and reach out to her with questions and concerns you have around your sexuality. Heck, even buy a toy or two (you bet your bottoms I have!)

Goodbye Sedona 10/09/2010
In this moment, I have arrived.
I read that quote off of Stacey Curnow's blog one day & ever since it has stuck with me. When I first read it,the quote implied that there was no other place to be than right here, right now.
Though that thought is still very much true, my recent adventure has introduced a whole new story.
It is impossible to know what life holds. What perfect person, job, adventure, new passion or discovery is just around the corner is entirely in the hands of the Universe. However, with our thoughts we direct what comes into & goes out of our lives.
I'm not entirely sure which thought it was that I planted to make this vacation be so wonderful, but boy am I glad that I did.
In this moment, I have arrived.
Suddenly I have tears in my eyes reading that quote. Now, it is teaching me that there is so much available I don't know about- it is impossible to settle on the concept of who I am and the limits to what I can obtain. I truly know not, what is possible.
However, if I stay in the mind frame of 'having arrived' I am able to be open to receiving that which I do not know. I believe that, that will make all the difference.
So much love,
PS. Thanks for baring with me during my travels. Spotty internet service made it difficult to blog everyday.
This will send you a fresh copy of my blog every time I write a new post and update you on special offers.
