My Mama Earth Holiday Decor 11/28/2010
Yesterday, I had a date with Jack the Dog and Mama Earth. You see, Christmas has never been my favorite time of year. As I mentioned before, the idea of STUFF is a big turn off for me. So, in the past, I haven't decorated to celebrate this Holiday. But this year, something inside me has shifted. It's not about the STUFF- whether it is there or not. It is about the act of love, gratitude and being together with my family and friends. It is the first year that I feel like I am starting a family of my own. Last week I decided to make a Mama Earth tree instead of decorating with store bought ornaments. I wanted to get crafty with nature and see what I could create. Here is a sneak peak at some of the decor I created. Everything I made yesterday was created with berries, branches and plants from my own back yard. It felt good letting my imagination wander into the gifts of the Earth. The product is fantastic and I am in the Christmas spirit already. I did go to the store and get one of those Frebreze plug-ins that smells like cinnamon rolls. So delicious. Every time I walk in the door it feels warm and cozy, just because of the scent. What are you doing this year to get in the spirit of the Holidays? Comments11/29/2010 11:58am
This is so beautiful. I love it. I notice that I love my home better when there are aspects of nature throughout whether thats the bamboo or plants that I grow an so forth. This has given me more ideas to incorporate at home. Show more pictures are your decorating progresses. This is wonderful.
