How Can A Home Altar Help Me Manifest? 01/24/2011
Altars & shrines. The words alone can be creepy when the stereotypical definition is attached to them. Because of the meaning placed on these words, their design & symbolism are useless to you. It is false to say that altars are only used for religious worshiping purposes & shrines are only used when you are obsessed with someone you can’t have. On the contrary, altars & shrines can be used for many things. In fact, you might already have some located around your house & not even know it.
If you would like to know more about the variations of altars & their many purposes, you should read this great book, Altars: Bringing Sacred Shrines into Your Everyday Life. This wonderful read gives very clear descriptions of altars & their history. Denise Lynn also shares the symbolism behind many colors, stones, objects & smells. I hope this inspires you to create an altar in your home. Mine have done nothing but bring joy into my life. Here is post I wrote a little over a year ago about my altar at the time. I love the love I feel when I'm close to my altar with crystals and reiki cards!

I have two altars. One is for healing and it has all of my tools, crystals and cards. The other altar is for my meditation. It has a very pretty glass Buddha statue my mother got me for Christmas last year. Each one has a different feel as they are both set for different destinies. I love the peaceful tranquility that comes from that room.
