How Can A Home Altar Help Me Manifest? 01/24/2011 11 Comments   My bed-side altar to support self reflection & love Altars & shrines. The words alone can be creepy when the stereotypical definition is attached to them. Because of the meaning placed on these words, their design & symbolism are useless to you. It is false to say that altars are only used for religious worshiping purposes & shrines are only used when you are obsessed with someone you can’t have. On the contrary, altars & shrines can be used for many things. In fact, you might already have some located around your house & not even know it. An altar can be a pleasing arrangement of photos, colors, objects, smells, stones, oils, etc. that enlighten your senses in one way or another.  Perhaps you had a love one who passed away. To honor them, you have their photo on a table with some flowers & candles. This is an altar - dedicated to a loved one. Looking to introduce more creativity, romance or abundance into your life? Finding objects, smells, even fabrics that represent what these things look like for you & placing them together in a decorative fashion in one area of your home (particularly where you want to manifest this energy) is also considered an altar. One important thing to remember is that the objects can, but do not have to have to have direct symbolism of what it is you want to create. What is most important is what the object, photo or smell represents for you. Every time you walk past this area of your home, you want to breath in deep and allow the energy that these objects inspire to fill you from head to toe. The more feel this energy alive within you, the more it will show up in your life. A must read for the manifesting lovers out there. This wonderful read gives very clear descriptions of altars & their history. Denise Lynn also shares the symbolism behind many colors, stones, objects & smells. The other altar is for my meditation. It has a very pretty glass Buddha statue my mother got me for Christmas last year. Each one has a different feel as they are both set for different destinies.
