The Power of Sisterhood 11/03/2011
Tonight was the second to last class of my SoulFire Coaching Circle with Lisa Carmen of SacredSexyU.
We spent the night going around in a circle telling each person what we loved about each other. Each person gave. Each person received.
It was heart warming. Heart opening. Heart growing.
It was just what we all needed.
Which brought a thought to the forefront of my mind.
How many of you have a tribe of women you can call upon to love you, support you, cherish you, celebrate you? When you've had the worst day possible and don't know how to make it better, do you have a girlfriend or two you can call to vent and release?
I ask, because I think it's crucial at this time and space for us all to be supported in way or another.
There was a time in my life when I thought girls were evil. I didn't want to be friends with them, I didn't want to get to know any of them - zilch, nothing, nada.
But as I've gotten older I crave that kind of connection that only other women can understand. The women I now choose to spend my time with are not out to get me, they don't have an alterior motive, they aren't trying to use me or talk badly about me behind my back.
They are different. They love me because of who I am and the things they love about me inspire their lives. It enchants their lives. My wild, divine spirit brings a calming groundedness to each one of them.
If you are in the position that I once found myself in, afraid of other women. But at the same time, longing for connection. Please, just this once, I dare you to take a risk and put yourself out there again.
But this time, do it with the intention that you will find a delightful new friend. No gossip. Just love. Move from a space of what you want to find, instead of what you don't.
Believe me, it's worth it.
